In places like Manhattan and Brooklyn, the vast increase over recent years in the volume of homework and extracurricular commitments for students at competitive schools has been seen to correlate to health and psychological effect. From Manhattan to Brooklyn, Queens to Staten Island, and across the Bronx, kids are working longer hours on homework and putting in more screen time.
